Benjamin Lehmann is a Producer and Media Executive specializing in Children’s and Family Entertainment.
Ben was recently named the VP of Production for Fred Rogers Productions where he oversees the production team and provides management and operational oversight of television, digital, audio and interactive productions.
From 2022 to 2026, Ben was a freelance Producer and Director. Projects include BLIPPI’S JOB SHOW, for Moonbug and Netflix.
Multiple episodes of SESAME STREET for Sesame Workshop and Netflix. An upcoming co-production for NATURE and Sesame Street premiering in October 2026.
TINY TIME TRAVEL for PBS Kids, and THE PIGEON EXPLAINS for the Hidden Pigeon Company.
Prior to 2022, Ben was Head of Live Action Production for Sesame Workshop where he led Sesame Street and was the Executive Producer from seasons 49 to 53 (He started on Sesame Street as a Production Assistant in Season 34 and has worked on every season since).
Other accomplishments include developing and Executive Producing 39 episodes of THE NOT TOO LATE SHOW WITH ELMO (EMMY and WGA nominated) and Executive Producing and being Series Director for HELPSTERS, a computational thinking show for Apple TV+ (40 episodes).
A 22-time EMMY award winner as a producer and director, Ben’s work has been recognized by IMAGEN, NAACP, PEABODY, JAPAN PRIZE and others. He was nominated in 2018 by the Director’s Guild of America for his direction of THE MAGICAL WAND CHASE and in 2021 by the Writers Guild of America for his writing on THE NOT TOO LATE SHOW WITH ELMO.
A native of Los Angeles, Ben spent his formative years in France and is bilingual. He received a BA from Colorado University, Boulder and lives in Queens, NY with his family and travels frequently to Pittsburgh.
